Wow it’s been 10 years at SkinPro as I update this portion of the website! I am a firm believer that the road of life takes you where you should be. I became a mom at 16 and again at 18. I learned as much from my boys as they have from me. They inspired me to do whatever it took, no matter what, keep learning and moving forward. Sometimes that took several jobs, less sleep and probably fewer meals than other moms but we did it. I’ve learned things in a way that few others experience. A priceless education in life and love. The three of us met my amazing husband and in 1989 we became a blended family.

In the late 80’s I trained as an EMT which is difficult with small kids so I applied that training to medical coding and compliance. I worked for private practice physicians and at MUSC for many years. I loved the medical environment but had my fill of insurance companies and the bureaucracy that kept providers busy with paperwork. So It was time for a change…

I wanted to spend more time caring for people in a personal way. I attended night school while managing a medical practice and obtained my esthetics license in 2009. Committed to my new career path I accepted a position with a national brand as a sales, education and management consultant. I received additional training in product ingredients, formulation, chemical peels, makeup artistry and spa management. I grew a territory with very few sales to one of the top territories 5 in about 4 years. I accepted a promotion and managed an amazing group of women on the east coast. This increased my travel and my work load. I loved my job and it was an amazing time for me professionally. I will always cherish this time in my career. Until things changed…..

The breast cancer diagnosis in 2013 required treatment and I made the best decision for me and my family. We opted for very aggressive surgery and natural reconstruction which requires multiple stages. This took well over a year to complete. Cancer shows you what’s important and what isn’t. Second chances can’t be squandered.

I needed more balance in my work and personal life and started working as an independent sales representative for some awesome brands. Working with these brands expanded my knowledge on advanced chemical peels, LED light therapy, growth factors, PRP and product formulation. I also completed a training program in oncology esthetics.

SkinPro Studio opened in 2016 originally as a training venue for other professionals allowing them to try treatments and products before they purchased the equipment or supplies. I quickly realized a skincare practice of my own was a big passion. I started with no in-studio clients and determination to build my “dream come true”. I love coming here everyday. The more I worked on people I was attracted to other therapies like micro-current. I completed many hours of additional training on micro-current, fascia release, lymphatic drainage & acne. I took a reiki certification and am a Level II reiki practitioner. In 2020 I began studying Chinese Medicine & native herbal medicine. The understanding of how the body responds to energy allows me to “treat the face you bring me” everyday. I grow and create many of the products I use in my treatments with clients. I also put that same care and devotion into products I create for home use.

Hank worked in the automotive industry most of his adult life. He worked with many different people and in lots of places. He loved his work at Sherwin Williams Automotive Refinishes helping others with paint installation and colors for many years. It was a natural progression for him to assume the day to day sales and service responsibilities for products and devices in 2020. Hank decided to become a massage therapist and completed his training in 2024. He provides all of our massage therapy services featuring neuromuscular massage, swedish massage, pregnancy massage, buccal massage, and pregnancy massage. He plans to increase his skills in massage while balancing the demands of product and device sales. He loves what he does and it shows in how the treatments are delivered and the client relationships he is building. I believe this is due to his style of consultation and actively focusing on what your needs are. There is no “routine” massage performed here.

My “dream come true” is stronger every year as we grow together. We are exactly where we are supposed to be!
